If the computer is being charged with the wrong charge cable, the PC may not receive the proper voltage necessary to ensure charge. Make sure the charge cable is correct for this model of HP laptop before utilizing it to charge your PC.

Connect the charger to the PC and ensure that the charging indicator light is on. If the PC does not power on check the outlet by plugging in another device to ensure the issue is not the outlet.

Remove the battery from the PC, and connect the PC to an electrical outlet with an active current. If the PC powers on while the battery is removed, the issue is not the power supply, but the battery itself. You’ll need to replace the battery. The computer will need to be run on AC power until the battery is replaced. Check out our battery replacement guide.

The laptop will not connect to a wireless network. The device will commonly say, “no network connection,” or, “you are not connected to the internet.”

Ensure that your internet is functioning properly by checking the status of the network on your wireless router or modem provided by your service provider.

Perform a system restore to rollback the laptop to an earlier date when the laptop was connected to your network; moreover, this will not delete your data.

Shut down the laptop, and unplug your router, and your modem. Wait for at least 45 seconds. After the 45 seconds, plug the modem and wait for the modem to come back online. Plug the router and wait for the router to come back online. Turn your laptop back on, and test your network connection.

The laptop does not connect to devices that seek a Bluetooth wireless connection. This issue is further related to the connection, or lack thereof, to the wifi.

Ensure that the device is connected to a wireless network. The wireless bluetooth will not work without a proper internet connection. A proper connection ensures that the device is capable of picking up a bluetooth signal to connect to the device.

The laptop processes and opens new applications at a slow rate. The 2.4GHz 4th generation Intel Core i3-4000M Processor may be defective or has lost processing power over time.

Try removing unused applications from the hard drive of the device. Unused applications can take up a significant amount of storage and slow other tasks on the device. Freeing up space may result in faster processing speeds.

Delete temporary files and consider cleaning up the hard drive. Temporary files, such as internet downloads and cookies may include harmful malware that slows down the processing ability of the device. Clearing these downloads from the device may result in the device running faster. Likewise, consider a third-party malware cleaning application and run it on the device.

The audio is not heard coming out of the speakers or is muffled.

First, check to see if the audio settings are turned on. If the audio settings are set off, turn them on and test the speakers. If, still, no sound is coming out, the speaker components may be broken and would then need to be replaced.

If there is no sound, try switching the audio format and hit “Test.” If the audio issue persists, uninstall and reinstall the audio driver. Then, use a soft cloth to clean and remove dust from the device’s speaker.

Over time, dust and other debris can get into the speaker output and can muffle the audio that the device is producing. Take a clean, dry cloth and use it to clean the inside of the speaker. As a result, the audio quality should improve.
