Introduction

Before you begin this procedure, make sure the laptop is powered off and there is nothing plugged into the computer. Also, your hands will need to be clean and dry.

What you need

Step 1

              Battery               
  • Turn the laptop upside down, so that the bottom is facing up.

Step 2

  • Slide the battery release latch to the left. The battery will pop up slightly.
  • Lift the battery upwards and out of the laptop.

Step 3

              Service Panel               
  • Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the single Phillips 3.0 x 10.5 mm screw that fastens the service panel to the laptop.

Step 4

  • Slide the service panel towards you to loosen it from the laptop.

  • Remove the service panel.

Step 6

              Hard Drive               
  • Remove the two Phillips 2.5 x 5.75 mm screws that hold the hard drive down to the computer.
  • Use the Phillips #00 screwdriver.

Step 7

  • Disconnect the hard drive connector cable from the computer’s system board.

Step 8

  • Lift the hard drive out of the hard drive bay by lifting up from the tab.
  • Remove the hard drive from the computer.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
