Introduction

If the CPU fan in your HP Envy x360 m6-aq003dx is not working properly, follow this guide to remove the fan from your laptop.

What you need

Step 1

              Back Panel               
  • Turn the laptop over and use the plastic opening tool to take off the rubber pads. You only need to take off the two pads at the top for this device.

  • Use the Torx T5 screwdriver to remove the six small screws.
  • Use the Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the screws under the rubber pads in step 1.

Step 3

  • Go slowly around the edge with the opening tool. The noises you will hear are due to the small joints popping open. Continue this until you have made your way around the entire laptop.

              CPU Fan               
  • Disconnect the port of the fan by flipping the black tab with the small blue plastic opening tool.
  • Remove the cable from the connector.

  • Remove the black cable from the fan by unclicking it from the plastic body of the fan with your fingers.
  • You will hear clicking sounds when the black cable is removed.

Step 6

  • Disconnect the port with the red, yellow, and black wires by removing the wires with your fingers.

  • Remove the two 4.5mm Phillips #1 screws.

  • Loosen the four black screws on the tail end of the fan with a Phillips head 1 screwdriver.
  • These screws do not come off.

  • Lift the CPU fan out with your hand.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
