Introduction
The battery is the component in the computer to power on the device. If you don’t have a battery then you can not turn your computer on.
A swollen battery has less power life compared to a new one. If your battery is swollen then this guide is for you. It will show how to replace a swollen battery.
Make sure your device is fully powered off before attempting this guide.
What you need
Step 1
Back Cover
- Flip the laptop over to the back side.

Step 2
- Remove the six 5.6 mm screws from the back cover using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.
- Remove the single 4.3 mm screw in the bottom middle section of the back cover using a T5 Torx screwdriver.

- Lift the back cover off the laptop.

Battery
- Remove the six 3.3 mm screws from the battery pack using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.

Step 5
- Lift the battery from the bottom of the laptop and and gently lift it up as you slowly unplug it from the connector on the top of the battery pack.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
