  • Remove the twelve 9 mm Phillips #00 screws.

  • Use the plastic opening tool and your hands to remove the bottom cover.

  • Disconnect the battery power cable from the motherboard.

  • Remove the six 6 mm Phillips #00 screws from the battery.

Step 5

  • Lift the battery out of the laptop.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

I am going to give this a try.. I took it to Best Buy Geek Squad, they had it for over 3 weeks and said they couldn’t find the part cause my laptop is to old. This wasn’t the only issue. The touchpad wasn’t working and I troubleshooted the problem and I fixed it myself.
