Introduction
Prior to beginning this repair, be sure to shut down the laptop and unplug the device from the charging cord.
What you need

- With the T5 screw-bit and screwdriver, loosen the five captive screws on the bottom of the laptop.

- With a spudger or opening tool, pry above the computer’s hinges and separate the posterior edge and sides.

- The back cover is held in place by magnetic strips.

Fan
- With tweezers, pull back the retention tape that is attached to the fan cable.

- Use your fingers to carefully disconnect the fan cable from the motherboard.

- Using a Phillips #1 screwdriver, loosen the three screws that secure the fan to the motherboard.

- With two fingers, carefully lift the left edge of the fan and remove it from the board.
