Introduction
Before replacing the component, please remember to power down and unplug your computer to avoid any power surges or shorts. Failing to power down and disconnect the power cable may result in further harm to the laptop or even yourself, so precautions must be taken.
Note: When the CMOS battery is removed, BIOS settings will be reset to factory defaults.
What you need
Step 1
CMOS Battery
- Unscrew seven 4.3 mm Torx 8 screws and four 4.3 mm Torx 8 screws.
- Pry up the plate with a plastic spudger.

- Unplug white plug that leads from the CMOS battery to the motherboard.

- Carefully pull out the CMOS battery.
- The CMOS battery is attached to the case with adhesive, so you must pull hard enough to surpass this connection.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
