Introduction

Keep in mind that the computer’s battery needs to be removed and the power adapter must be disconnected before you begin. We’ll show you how to do that in this guide as well.

Usually, a computer’s keyboard needs to be replaced when you type in the keyboard but nothing gets displayed in the screen. However, check out our troubleshooting page to see if your problem falls into a different category.

Please follow instructions as they appear.

What you need

              Battery               
  • Make sure your device is powered off and disconnected from the power adapter.
  • Slide the lock all the way to the left. The battery should pop up.

  • Pull the battery out.

              Back Panel               
  • Slide the lock all the way to the right and remove the M2.5x8mm screw with a Philips #0 screwdriver.
  • Make sure your device is turned off and your battery is removed.

  • Slide the panel towards you and lift it up to open and access the back of the computer.

              CD/DVD ROM               
  • Unscrew one M2.5x8mm screw using a Phillips #0 screwdriver.
  • The screw does not have to come out completely.

  • Push the metal tip to the left with a screwdriver.

  • Pull out the CD/DVD ROM with your hand.

              Keyboard               
  • Unscrew three M2.5x8mm screws using Phillips #0 screwdriver.

Step 9

  • Put your finger through the hole to push out the keyboard from its place.
  • Keep in mind to push rather hard to fully remove the keyboard from the actual laptop.

Step 10

  • Carefully lift keyboard to reveal connection strips.
  • Unlock the latch holding the connection strips.
  • Pull out the connection strips from the motherboard.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
