Prepare your device
- Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
- Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
- Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
- Turn the computer upside down on a flat surface.

Remove the bottom cover screws
- Loosen the eight captive screws that secure the bottom cover.
- Loosen the two inset captive screws that secure the bottom cover.

Remove the bottom cover
- Starting under the middle of the display, pry and lift the bottom cover off the computer. Consider using a spudger.

Disconnect the battery
- Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
- Remove the four Torx T8 2.0×4.0 screws.

Step 5
Remove the battery
- Rotate the top of the battery upward, and then lift the battery out of the computer.

To replace the battery & reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
