What you need

Step 1

              Battery               
  • Turn off and unplug laptop.

  • Locate the battery lock below the battery labeled one.
  • Slide the lock all the way to the left to release the left lock of the battery.

  • Locate the lock labeled two at the bottom right corner below the battery.
  • Slide and hold the lock to the left.

  • Once both the battery locks are unlocked, slide the battery out to remove.

              Keyboard               
  • Locate and remove the 3 screws holding the keyboard in place from underneath the laptop.

  • Locate and remove the four retaining clips from the edge of the keyboard. To remove pry up gently on the outside edge of the plastic clip. Once the clip pops up pull it straight out.

Step 7

  • At this point the back of the keyboard should come up a bit. You may need to use a thin tool to pull it up, but in my case I only needed my hands. Once you have the back of the keyboard propped up as shown pull the keyboard gently towards the screen to remove. Be careful not to pull completely out because there are still connectors attached to it.

Step 8

  • Now with tweezers or a gentle prying apparatus gently pull the lock on the retaining clip up to release each ribbon cable. It is important to only pull up on the lock and not the entire clip.

Step 9

  • At this point the keyboard should be completely detached and ready to be removed. Be sure to take your time installing the ribbon cables as these can be troublesome if not installed properly

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
