What you need

Step 1

              Motherboard               
  • Start with unscrewing all 16 5.7mm screws from the bottom of the laptop.
  • Make sure to remove the rubber pads covering 4 of the screws near the back of the laptop.

Step 2

  • Pop the clips around the perimeter of the keyboard tray.

Step 3

  • Lift the keyboard tray carefully and disconnect the ribbon cables before setting it aside.

Step 4

  • The motherboard is located in the top left corner of the laptop.
  • Be sure to disconnect the battery as well as any other connectors on the motherboard.
  • We recommend a prying motion on the two power cords seen in the top right of the motherboard.

Step 5

  • Remove all the screws securing the motherboard down.

  • Remove the copper heat sink and then remove the motherboard using a tilting motion for the ports to slip out of the plastic casing.
