Step 3
Disconnect second battery pack
- The small black gauge connector is for charging the battery pack, the bigger yellow/orange is for discharging it.
- The second battery has the same connectors, one for charge one for discharge, the are squeezed into the gap under the top of the chassis. Disconnect them both.
- Once the batteries are fully disconnected, turn GR16 on, to discharge the on board capacitor fully.
- Then reconnect the second, and the first battery pack. Expect some sparks when the yellow connectors are connected. Don’t forget to connect both battery packs.
- Turn on GR16 to check if it is working. Reassemble and fix the rubber cover with duck tapes :) or glue them on.

I recently took old battery out of the 14 inch one and reconnected another battery thinking it was ok. Didn’t discharge circuit board took off and ended up on my face..batter indicator showed two lights…must have been faulty battery as it was fully charged and had only gone 50yds…first face planting 6 years…will definitely wear helmet after that punishment

I couldn’t agree more, the helmet - in my case is a motocross helmet with jaw protection - is a must. I managed to bring GR16 to its physical limits in terms of max torque and ended up bitting the pavement with 41Km/h. An experience I do not recommend to replicate. Stay safe, wear helmet and protection.
