Introduction

My iPhone SE Lightning Connector had been in for repair under warranty 3 times and clearly had never been replaced. During the “replacement” of my Lightning Connector, I could see the phone had never been opened.

Unfortunately, the “replacement” Lightning Connector didn’t work. So, thinking that I had nothing to lose, I set about trying to fix it and it worked!

What you need

Step 1

              Tweezer Time
  • Using the fine tweezers, carefully remove the build up of fluff and other debris from inside the Lightning Connector. I was really shocked how much was in there.

Step 2

              Contact Cleaner Time
  • After having cleared out the inside of the Lightning Connector, carefully apply contact cleaner. It may not be a bad idea to mask off the rest of the phone before doing this. My Lightning Connector had been removed from the phone so it wasn’t a problem I had to deal with.
  • Do this outside if possible as contact cleaner can stink.

Step 3

Put the kettle on and make a cuppa
  • When the contact cleaner has dried, you’re ready to go.
