  • After pouring 1/4th of a capfull of sanitizer into the plastic container, fill the container halfway with water. Submerge both the rubber stopper base and bottom half of the airlock in the solution. Soak both components for one minute.

  • Dry both the airlock and the rubber stopper base with the microfiber towel.

  • Using a cotton swab, apply a small amount of food-safe oil to the airlock base; we used unrefined coconut oil.

  • Holding both the airlock in one hand, and the rubber stopper base in the other, carefully maneuver the airlock into the base.

  • Insert the now reassembled airlock into the sanitizer solution and shake gently to remove excess oil.
