              How to Repair a Qianlong Rolling Office Chair               
  • Carefully turn the chair over onto its side so that you have clear access to the underside of the seat.
  • Remove the old bolts and hardware by unscrewing each bolt with your torque wrench, turning counterclockwise. We will be replacing them with new ones.

  • Dust off both the underside of the seat and the metal plate with a paper towel to ensure they are both clean before reassembling.

  • Line up the holes of the metal plate with the holes under the seat, so that each bolt can be inserted without any trouble.

Step 4

  • Place a flat washer in front of one of the holes and make sure it lines up.
  • Carefully insert one of the bolts through the washer and into the hole. Use your index and thumb to tighten the bolt as much as possible, by turning it clockwise. Doing so makes it easier to tighten with your wrench later.
  • Please ensure you are using the correct size bolts. The bolts used in this guide are flat bolts 1/2" in length and 3/16" in diameter.

Place a flat washer in front of one of the holes and make sure it lines up.

Carefully insert one of the bolts through the washer and into the hole. Use your index and thumb to tighten the bolt as much as possible, by turning it clockwise. Doing so makes it easier to tighten with your wrench later.

Step 5

  • Use your torque wrench to tighten the bolt the rest of the way by turning it clockwise, until it is very snug.
  • Potential for device damage: Do not over-tighten, as doing so can damage the screw or the hole, which could leave it unusable.
  • Repeat steps 3-5 with the remaining three holes.

  • Make any other adjustments as necessary. Use the big wheel located on the underside of the seat to tighten or loosen the back rest.
