No special skills are required. All that is needed is an iron and ironing board. Be careful when using the iron as it can burn your skin and the fabric.

  • Use your scissors to cut a piece of fusible interfacing.
  • Make sure this piece is slightly larger than the hole in your curtain.

  • Place the ripped curtain face down on the ironing board.

  • Place the fusible interfacing adhesive side down.

  • Preheat the iron to the temperature stated on the instructions for the fusible interfacing.
  • Some fusible interfacing may require either a steam setting or a dry setting.

  • Iron over the interfacing until it sticks to the fabric.
  • If the fabric is delicate you may want to place a protective cloth over the patch before ironing.

Now your curtain is as good as new! Fusible interfacing cannot be removed once it is attached to the fabric, so be careful when applying it so you can repair your curtains successfully.
