Introduction

The instructions for repair are easy to follow and can be completed inexpensively. You will need to buy the adhesive glue and possibly a new screw if you do not have one that fits properly.

              How to Repair a  Cabinet Door Knob               

• Unscrew the loose knob from the inside of the cabinet. Turn the Phillips head screwdriver counterclockwise. Look to see if the screw is too short; you should be able to see at least 1/2 an inch of the screw sticking out from the other side of the cabinet door. This is the reason why the knob keeps coming loose.
• Place the Phillips Head screwdriver onto the head of the screw and turn it counterclockwise.

Step 2

• If the screw looks too short, open the cabinet and see if the screw is all the way in. If not, screw it back in (then skip to step 4). If it is fully screwed into the cabinet and it is still too short (meaning you don’t see at least 1/2 a centimeter of the screw), you will need a new screw.

• Take the knob and the screw to a hardware store so they can give you the proper measurements.
• Screw the newly purchased or old screw all the way into the cabinet door. Then twist the knob clockwise onto the bottom half of the screw once it’s in the cabinet door. DO NOT screw the knob all the way on, leave 1/2 cm for the next step.
• Turn the knob clockwise.

Take the knob and the screw to a hardware store so they can give you the proper measurements.

Screw the newly purchased or old screw all the way into the cabinet door. Then twist the knob clockwise onto the bottom half of the screw once it’s in the cabinet door. DO NOT screw the knob all the way on, leave 1/2 cm for the next step.

• Place the wood thread adhesive onto the knob that is outside of the cabinet before you screw it completely onto the door (this will guarantee that the knob will permanently stay on).
• Leave about 1/2 of a cm between the knob and the cabinet door.
• Be careful when using the glue. Try not to get it on your clothes, hands, or eyes.

• After placing the adhesive, let it dry for 15 seconds, then continue to twist the knob clockwise onto the cabinet until it is tight.
