Many e-mail programs today support the ability to adjust e-mail attachments. You can remove an attachment from a message before it is sent or forwarded to another user. Select your e-mail program in the list below and follow the steps.
Remove an attachment in Microsoft Outlook
Click the forward button to create a new forwarded e-mail message. Then, you can delete the attached file by doing any of the suggestions below.
Microsoft Outlook.
Mozilla Thunderbird.
Gmail and Yahoo!
Highlight the file and press the Del.
Right-click the attachment and select delete from the right-click menu.
Remove an attachment in Mozilla Thunderbird
Click the forward button to create a new forwarded e-mail message. Then, you can delete attachments in the top-right corner of the e-mail window by doing any of the suggestions below.
Remove an attachment in Gmail and Yahoo!
For web-based e-mail, like Gmail and Yahoo, first you need to open the e-mail message and click the Forward option to create a new forwarded e-mail message.
In the new e-mail message, scroll to the bottom of the e-mail and click the X to the right of the attachment.
