Use a full 32-bit application, such as Windows Explorer, for managing the files on your computer. If you are using a program that does not have 32-bit support, such as File Manager, it does not support long file names.
A Windows program without long file name support converts the file to the 8.3 format, an eight-character file name, with a three-character file extension.
