For older computers, you can decrease the time it takes to log onto the Internet by disabling network protocols not used to connect to the Internet.

  • Double-click My Computer and double-click Dial-up Network icon.

  • Right-click the Internet Dial-up Networking icon you want to log in faster and click the Properties option.

  • Click the Server types tab and uncheck the following options.

  • Log on to network

  • NetBEUI

  • IPX/SPX Compatible
