  • Hold the microphone just below the grille with one hand while using your other hand to rotate the grille clockwise to remove.

  • Completely unscrew the grille and slide it off of the top of the microphone. The unprotected microphone is delicate, so place it somewhere safe while you follow the next steps.

              How to clean the Shure SM58 Grille               
  • Put two drops of dish soap into a cup.
  • Add water to cup until half full.

  • Place the grille in the solution of soap and water.
  • Let the grille soak for half an hour.

  • Remove the grille from the cup and rinse it with cold water.
  • Allow the grille to air dry.
  • Make sure the grille and the foam inside it are completely dry before placing it back on the microphone.
