Introduction

Over time, dust can build up inside of the device which could block the sensors and prevent the mouse from working properly. The dust can be removed by using a microfiber cloth or a damp towel.

Before disassembly, ensure power is removed from the device.

What you need

Step 1

              Disassembly               
  • Unplug the USB cord to disconnect the mouse from the power
  • Use a Phillips 00 Screwdriver to unscrew one screw.

Step 2

              Complete mouse disassembly               
  • Take off the top of the mouse.
  • Use a microfiber cloth or a damp towel to remove any debris located inside of the highlighted areas.

              Sensors               
  • Twist the ball counter-clockwise to remove it.
  • Clean the ball with a microfiber cloth.

              Wipe gently with microfiber cloth               
  • Clean the vertical and horizontal ball sensors with a microfiber cloth.

              Examining Wheel               
  • Examine the wheel for debris. The wheel can get dirty frequently which affects performance and may cause issues.
  • Remove any debris found and clean the wheel with a microfiber cloth.

              Sensor Error               
  • The wheel clicker sensor is located under the wheel.

              Wheel Clicker               
  • The wheel clicker sensor is located under the wheel.
  • Remove the wheel to expose the sensor.
  • Remove any debris and wipe down the sensor with a microfiber cloth.

Step 8

              Plug it back in               
  • Insert the USB Cable back into your computer to supply with power.
  • Test functions of the mouse to insure proper cleaning and reassembly.

Step 9

              If there are still issues, Examine the cord and the USB leads in the male port               
  • Examine the cord for frays or any exposed wire that may cause a bad connection.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
