Open Kali's command line Terminal
- Press Ctrl + Alt + T to open the Terminal Interface.

Enter the following command
- Use the command sudo passwd root
- When prompted enter your systems root command. If this is a fresh install of Kali, the default password will be set to ‘kali’
- When prompted enter your new command. Be sure to make your new command unique, lengthy, and something that you can remember.

The passwd command can be used to change any user account password that is set up in Kali regardless of if they’re a root account or not.
