The Discord chat service has a wide variety of features and customization options. One of these features is the ability to change the name of a server you created. To learn how to do so, follow the steps below.

How to change a Discord server’s name

  • Open the Discord program or navigate to the Discord website.
  • If you access Discord through the website, click the Open Discord button.
  • On the left side of the screen, click the server you want to change.

Only the server owner, or anyone with a server role with moderator privileges can customize a server’s name and icon.

  • Once you’ve selected the server, click its name near the top.

  • Select Server Settings from the drop-down menu that appears.

  • On the left side of the next screen, ensure the Overview tab is selected.

  • In the center of the screen, under Server Overview, click inside the Server Name field, and then type the new desired server name.

  • After typing the new server name, click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the screen.

Discord server names are case-sensitive, meaning the uppercase and lowercase letters in the new name appear exactly as you typed them.
