The hoverboard will not respond to Bluetooth pairing.
Make sure that both the hoverboard, and the device you are trying to connect to, have bluetooth turned on. The hoverboard will automatically turn the bluetooth on, but will turn off after two minutes of no connection. To connect a device after two minutes, turn the hoverboard off and then on again. If the connection is still unsuccessful, disconnect the hoverboard from the bluetooth device list on your device, and then reconnect.
If your device will not connect to your hoverboard, the hoverboard may not have enough charge. Charge the hoverboard and then reconnect.
The bluetooth pairing may not be successful if the two devices are out of range. Make sure that the device you are trying to pair is within three feet of the hoverboard. Once the devices are within pairing range, reconnect your device to the hoverboard.
The hoverboard may not connect to your device if there are too many devices already connected to it. The Hover-1 Horizon can pair up to two devices at one time. If the connection is unsuccessful, make sure to disconnect all previously connected devices and try again.
Hoverboard is unbalanced or leaning to one side when riding.
The Hover-1 Horizon may be out of calibration and will need to be recalibrated.
Here is how to do it.
Start the process with the board powered off.
Make sure the board is completely level and press and hold the power button down
for 15 seconds.
After 5 seconds, the board will beep.
After 10-15 seconds, the headlights and rear lights will flash red and white.
Turn the board off and back on again.
The calibration process is now complete.
The wheels have sensors in order for them to balance out. After some use, the sensors may get faulty and wear out. Problems with balancing can be caused by these sensors. You are able to tell if the sensors aren’t working when the light on the front of the hoverboard is turned on. The light is turned on when you step on the hoverboard, but in the case of a faulty/broken sensor, one (or both) of the lights are turned on without you being on the board. If this occurs you may need to replace the sensors using this guide.
One side of the hoverboard is not functioning or is unresponsive.
If the hoverboard spins in circles or one side does not respond properly to user input, the gyroscope is most likely experiencing a problem. The gyroscope needs to be replaced using this guide.
Wheels are experiencing resistance while turning.
If the wheels are having trouble rotating, the wires that connect them to the circuit board could be broken. Follow our Wheel Wires guide to check if the wires are faulty and need to be replaced.
If the motor still does not respond to reconnecting the wires, the whole wheel, which contains the motor, needs to be replaced.
The hoverboard fails to turn off.
Make sure that the power button is pressed once to turn off the device.
A faulty power button can cause the hoverboard to not turn off. Replace the power button using this guide.
