              Motor               
  • Using a Phillips #1 screwdriver, remove the six 15mm screws on the outer ring of the back of the fan holding the frame together.
  • The screw channel is long and it is recommended to use a screwdriver with a long shaft or a screwdriver with a skinnier handle.

Step 2

  • Pry apart the blade cover from the body of the fan to access the inside.

  • Remove the two 36mm screws on the metal plate behind the blades using the Phillips #1 screwdriver.

  • Carefully pull the motor forward out of its resting position and tilt it forward revealing the back of the motor.
  • Beware of the wires attached to the back of the motor.

  • Using the Phillips #1 screwdriver, remove the two 37mm screws on the back of the motor.
  • Beware that there is a nut holding the screw in place on the opposite side of the motor.
  • Beware once the screw is removed the metal brace where the screws are located will come off.

  • Carefully remove the circular motor from the square holder.
  • The fan blades will still be connected to the circular motor.

  • Remove the felt washer, metal washer, and the rubber stopper from the axle.

Step 8

  • Remove the motor and replace it with the new part.
  • Consider using a lubricant to insert the new motor.

Hi informative guide but first how do we get the new motor how do you remove the blade nut to remove the blade from the old motor shaft

Given the difficulty of finding a replacement motor with three speeds and the correct mounting configuration, it makes more sense to buy a new model of this fan. Much faster, too.
