Step 1
Bacterial Filter
- Orient Hamilton-C1 so the right side of the device is facing you.

Step 2
- Disconnect HME (heat and moisture exchanger) and flex tube
- Bacterial filter is held within the HME.
- Use both hands to gently pull and/or twist the flex tube and HME away from one another until fully disconnected.
- The HME should still be connected to the overall circuit setup.
- In reassembly, a new HME with a non-contaminated bacterial filter will be reconnected to the flex tube for this step.
Disconnect HME (heat and moisture exchanger) and flex tube
Bacterial filter is held within the HME.
Use both hands to gently pull and/or twist the flex tube and HME away from one another until fully disconnected.
The HME should still be connected to the overall circuit setup.
In reassembly, a new HME with a non-contaminated bacterial filter will be reconnected to the flex tube for this step.
Step 3
- Disconnect HME and circuit setup
- Use both hands to gently pull and/or twist the flow sensor and HME away from one another until fully disconnected.
- The HME (with used/contaminated bacterial filter) should now be completely disconnected from all parts.
- In reassembly, a new HME with a non-contaminated bacterial filter will be reconnected to the flow sensor for this step.

The HME (with used/contaminated bacterial filter) should now be completely disconnected from all parts.
In reassembly, a new HME with a non-contaminated bacterial filter will be reconnected to the flow sensor for this step.
To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
