              Remove blind stitch to access mechanism.               

• The bottom plate is removable, but doesn’t give you access to the mechanism.
• Blind stitch looks different from other seams in fabric.

Step 2

              Remove ear mechanism               

If you look closely at gear, you can see a small crack

I ending up using an 8 tooth, 2mm shaft, 0.5 modulus gear. That is, an 82A white plastic gear.
