Your Google Home appears to be on but will not respond to input.
Move location of device away from other appliances or obstructions. Make sure your Google home is in a quiet location and try speaking loudly and clearly.
The microphone of your Google home may be muted (if this is the case there will be four still, orange lights in a diamond). To unmute your Google Home press the button on the back of the speaker.
Try restarting your device. Open Google Home app and select the device you are trying to reboot. Go to Settings (three vertical dots in the upper right corner of the device card) and tap More and then Reboot.

Unplug the device for roughly a minute, and then it plug back into the power source. Allow the device to reboot itself.
Go to myactivity.google.com and listen to the voice recordings that your device is picking up. If you hear static or bad quality recordings contact Google Home Support. The “Contact Us” option will be in the upper right hand corner of this page.
Your Google Home may need a complete reset to default factory settings in order to fix the issue. This action cannot be undone and you’ll need to set up the device again.
If nothing else is working: press and hold the mute button on the back of your Google Home for about 15 seconds. You’ll hear your Google Assistant confirm that it’s resetting Google Home.
Your Google Home is on but is not able to connect to your home wi-fi network.
Your Google Home does not stay connected when it is placed right next to the source of Wifi. Move it away from router and modem to keep the connection.
If it still does not stay connected to the wifi, restart router and modem.
The source of the wi-fi network may be the issue. Check to see if other devices are connected and successfully using the wi-fi; if not, you may need to restart router and modem.

Using your Google Home is activating multiple devices.
The best way to avoid activating multiple devices is to not use them in the same room. Leave your phone in your bedroom if you want to enjoy the Google Home undisturbed.
Your Google Home is giving incorrect answers to questions involving location such as: How’s the weather? How long will it take me to get to …? How far away is …?
Google Home relies on its location for most of its information so if any information is being left out of updates or Google Home is, check to make sure your device knows where it is.
In the Google Home app open Settings > Personal Info > Home and work locations and check to make sure the Home Address is correct.

Your Google Home has an unfamiliar pattern of lights on its top and you don’t understand what they mean.
Google Home is “thinking”. If Google home is stuck with these lights it could mean it’s having trouble connecting to Wifi or the operating system is buggy.
Google Home is Connecting to Wifi.
Google Home is experiencing an “error”. This usually means an update is taking longer than expected but can be helped by restarting the device.

The audio coming out of your Google Home is muffled or indistinguishable.
The sound driver of your Google Home may be broken or malfunctioning. If this is the case, you will need to replace the sound driver.
Your Google Home does not turn on at all.
Make sure your Google Home is plugged in and that the plug is fully inserted into the socket.
The motherboard of your Google Home may be broken or malfunctioning. If this is the case, you will need to replace the motherboard.
Pressing the mute button on your Google Home does not mute the device.
The mute button of your Google Home may be broken or malfunctioning. If this is the case, you will need to replace the mute button switch.
